Miles Murphy

Co-founder of the production company Happy.film

Miles Murphy has directed hundreds of TVC’s, half a dozen short films and was the 2nd unit director on the feature film Pork Pie. Prior to directing Miles worked as an actor, an art director, a post-production consultant, 3D animator and for nearly 15 years as a grip including dolly grip on the Lord of the Rings trilogy. You could say he’s pretty well rounded.

In his day Miles was a gun breakdancer with his crew called The Electric Ewoks and still pulls the headspin out on occasion (at wrap parties). You can view Miles’ work on the Happy website.

Angela Murphy – Producer

Co-founder of Happy, Angela produces TVC’s, features and short films, has coordinated multiple feature films and has diplomas in production design, screen production and acting. She was also instrumental in the launch and implementation of film production software company Showtools. Which we use, because it’s extremely useful.

Adam Clark

After working on Taika Waititi’s Oscar-nominated short film Two Cars, One Night (2003), Adam Clark made his feature debut as a director of photography in 2007 with Waititi’s first full-length movie, odd couple tale Eagle vs Shark. After shooting Waititi’s second feature — Kiwi box office champ Boy — Clark took away a Qantas Film Award in 2010. His eclectic CV also includes much traveled short film The Hole, plus music videos (Little Things), commercials, and docudrama What Really Happened – Waitangi. His contributions to Vincent Ward’s Rain of the Children were also Qantas nominated.

“Allen Guilford, AlBol (Alun Bollinger) and Richard Bluck taught me all the skills I needed to become a cinematographer. But in the end you have to reinvent the wheel for yourself. My wheel still has rough edges, but I’m working on it.”
